I just got home from a weekend conference/retreat, my second this month, and today bought plane reservations for two more. So I thought I’d give you the run-down — where I’ve been and more importantly, where I’m going, in case you want to come say ‘hi’!
Three weeks ago was the RT BookReviews convention in Chicago, which was a blast. I loved seeing so many of you at both Avon’s Indigo Lounge and at the huge book signing Saturday! Avon’s Indigo Lounge extravaganza is always one of my favorite events of RT. Tons of free books given away, food, champagne (served by last year’s Mr. Romance), and other giveaways (like shot glasses advertising A Blood Seduction).
Not only was RT in town, but also Chicago’s Comic Con (C2E2). I did a book signing there (above) and sat on a panel, We’re No Angels, with Charlaine Harris, Christina Henry, Chloe Neill, Karina Cooper, Jeaniene Frost, and Kerrelyn Sparks. In the following clip, we discuss why our heroines are no damsels in distress.
This past weekend, I attended the Washington Romance Writers’ annual Retreat in Westminster, Maryland. The weekend kicked off with a book signing at Turn the Page bookstore in Boonsboro owned by Nora Roberts’ husband.

As for the ARCs (Advanced Reading Copies), I have three left of A Blood Seduction, book 1 in my new Vamp City series which hits shelves May 29th. On Thursday, May 3rd, I’ll choose three people from the comments below to get one. Question for you: have you ever attended a book signing? If so, whose? If you’ve attended a lot of them, which one was most recent? (If you’ve already received an ARC of this book, please let me know. I’m losing track!)
No, I have never attended a book signing. I would love to and have been watching the papers, but it doesn’t look like to many people come to South Florida on book tours. I’ll keep looking though.
I used to take my son all over the palce for sports figures signings. Boy, does he have a collection!

I’ve only been to a couple book signings which were Chloe Neill & Corey Taylor from the band SlipKnot (that one was for hubby) & i most recently went to RT! 🙂
i have to admit, i have not ever attended a signing… but i live in the middle of nowhere in a province nobody ever goes to visit…lol… ive been hoping to hit one of the big conventions sometime, but keep missing them (missed the chicago one by a month.. lol)
I have been to many signings! I was recently at the Turn the Page signing that you were at! Loved meeting you. The next day I was at a Sara Humphreys signing. Then, yesterday I was at the Festival of Mystery in Oakmont, PA. I am a signing veteran!

I have attended a few signings. I was at RWA when it was in NYC. I also met Lara Adrian and Donna Grant when they were in barnes and noblr tjat same weekend.
I actually love going to book signings. It is so wonderful to put faces with the authors you love so much.

I attended a signing for Kresley Cole earlier this year in Tampa, FL and another signing with Sherrilyn Kenyon in Orlando, FL. I have your Feral Warrior books, but would love to read your new series.
My first Author signing was J.R. Ward, it was for Lover Revealed and it was a blast. I then had an opportunity to attend a Sherrilyn Kenyon book signing and that was a crazy ride. Last but certainly not least, I had the honor of meeting Suzanne Brockmann in March for Born to Darkness. She was out of this world fantastic, so were the other Authors but I actually had time to talk books and my love of her character Ken Karmody.
I am a bit envious of Stephanie ….Kresley Cole and Paul Marron *double sigh*

I have attended the last two comic cons in San Diego California to see Sherrilyn Kenyon and unfortunately missed her both times. But I was ableb to see her booths which were awesome. I am really hoping to make it up to Anaheim this summer though. Not many authors come to San Diego which is where I am from, so traveling sounds like a good adventure. I would love the opportunity to meet the authors who help me maintain my sanity in life. Lol thank you for introducing me to your stories.

I hit up as many signings as i can, locally. i guess most recently was Jocelyn Drake’s signing in Cinci; my crazy schedule required me to sacrifice meeting JR WArd and Kerrlyn Sparks last month, but *shrugs* i’ll catch them next time they’re around. SUPER excited that Charlaine Harris will be in town on Derby Day!

I’ve never attended a book signing, but this year I’m going to Madrid’s book fair and there are going to be a ton of authors there. I’m sure I’ll get something signed!
I’ve gone to a few book signings, but we don’t get that many in my area. My first was in 2009 when RT was in Orlando. Melissa Marr, Jeaniene Frost, Rachel Vincent, Jennifer Lynn Barnes, and Mark Del Franco made a detour to our local Borders and it was awesome. I’ve also waited in line for 3+ hours to get books signed by Sherrilyn Kenyon & Dianna Love (we showed up late and I ended up at the end of the line). The furthest I’ve gone is a four-ish hour drive to Miami for Lauren Kate’s release of Passion last summer. And tomorrow, I’m taking a two hours trip up to Jax to meet Charlaine Harris! It’s extra exciting because I haven’t been there since graduating college.
I have been to a signing for Richelle Mead. She was really sweet! But since I live in Canada, not many authors come here as much as I would like. Hopefully, one day I can go to RT and see you all!
